Writing songs was very unusual for women in brazil at the time. Nara Leao was an exceptional exception.

Elis Regina "Waters of March"

Elis is portuguese but spent practically her whole career in Brazil. Fantastic singer here with Tom Jobim. Great meditation on life & time.

Early wonderful tropicalia.

Wonderfuly relaxed & inspired vibe. Probably a Devandra favorite.

"The cool ruler" is my favorite singer from Jamaica. This video has amazing footage from an Jamaican dancehall. The members of his band are so high, they can hardly keep their eyes open. "Everything is going to be all right at the party tonight. I wanna rock you until it's broad day light". La da da da da...

David Sandstrom from hardcore legends Refused is singing on this new track. The song is kinda ridiculous but also kinda addictive.

Neon Indian "Deadbeat Summer"

This is a new Brooklyn band i really like. At least their latest song is a great summer tune, another good one is "I should have taken acid with you". Let's hope for a NYC show soon. Unofficial video.
