One of my all time favorites.

My favorite Dusty records is her American years in Memphis & Philadelphia. More soul makes the pop.
Pet Shop boys & Dusty Springfield "What have I done to deserve this?"
She looks like Rod Stewart if he went all the way & had the sex change. Scary. However, stellar vocal performance as always. And I like that the queens in PSB's have found an domestic diva. What an amazing song.

Everyone has seen this a dozen times but it's just so great how it's shot from above with the music slowly building up so perfect for the start of a movie. A classic for a reason. Should be shown is school as a jaywalking instruction video. Kids are going to do it anyway, better do it like a bad cat.

Writing songs was very unusual for women in brazil at the time. Nara Leao was an exceptional exception.
Elis Regina "Waters of March"
Elis is portuguese but spent practically her whole career in Brazil. Fantastic singer here with Tom Jobim. Great meditation on life & time.
Gilberto Gil & Os Mutantes "Domingo no parque"
Early wonderful tropicalia.
Caetano Veloso & Chico Buarque "Tatuagem/Esse Cara"
Wonderfuly relaxed & inspired vibe. Probably a Devandra favorite.

Great cover made at the time.

Maybe the biggest genius in Brazilian history together with pele.

I prefer Dennis Browns later lovers style over the roots 70's. However, the cat that climbs up to the stage & whips up the best dance moves in the wildest clothes makes this video a must see.

"The cool ruler" is my favorite singer from Jamaica. This video has amazing footage from an Jamaican dancehall. The members of his band are so high, they can hardly keep their eyes open. "Everything is going to be all right at the party tonight. I wanna rock you until it's broad day light". La da da da da...
